I do enjoy photography, and it was astrophotography which got me interested in astronomy and telescopes. I am not as interested in visual observation, as there is no picture which results from this – only a verbal or written description of what was seen. I have been interested in planetary imaging but not had the right camera for this. Hence I decided to change all this and get the Celestron Neximage 5. Conjunction of moon and Jupiter

I was up with the girls this morning before sunrise, preparing to take them to school. As is the routine, I looked out the window into the skies to see what the weather was like today. What greeted me was clear skies with the moon accompanied by a bright dot not too far from it. I knew that it was too bright to be a star – so it must be one of the planets.
