Sunspots from 11/1/15

There was a brief period of clear skies on Sunday around noon time. Hence I decided to set up the telescope to image sunspots. The seeing was not great but did allow me to catch a few of the sunspots visible. This is my first proper attempt at solar imaging this year.

Equipment used: Skywatcher ED100, Baader Herschel prism, Double-stacked Baader Solar continuum filters, Televue Powermate 5x, Olympus E-P5, all mounted on Astrotrac TT320AX.

These images are slightly cropped in but not 100% crops as the seeing wasn’t good enough for this. I hope to have more opportunities to do solar imaging in the coming year.

The following image is from 13/1/15 of sunspot AR2259. It almost looks like a face to me now.
