So I thought I would try this app for landscape shots, as well as for macro. Here are some of the stacks I took before. As you can see the depth of field is much more than what it normally is.
First shot of the stack:
First macro shot of the snow (take with magnetic clip-on macro lens):
This macro shot of the 20p coin was taken with the Pentax 110 50mm F2.8 lens stacked on the iPhone. First is single shot.
This is the focus stacked final image.
So this app does work and if you already own a focus stacking program, this app can be very handy indeed (and free). For those who do not own a focus stacking program can still benefit from using this app as it comes with 10 credits to try focus stacking – and if you enjoy this and would like to do more, then you can do the in-app purchase to get more credit. Just make sure you have mounted the iPhone on a stable tripod/gorillapod before shooting.
Thumbs up for a great app which works. Highly recommended.
