When we were in Monaco, we parked in the underground car park just next to the harbour front. When we emerged from the car park, we were greeted by the Stars N Bars Restaurant. There were some interesting features of this restaurant, and hence we decided to dine there for lunch.
The Stars N Bars restaurant is a sports cafe with some sports memorabilia on display on its walls inside. We, however, dined outside to enjoy the views of the harbour front and soak in the atmosphere of Monte Carlo.
Now the restaurant already struck us from the moment we were handed their menu – there were two versions of this – one of which was an electronic tablet. This is a novel idea and would have worked great, but for the fact that it was exceedingly sunny and made reading the tablet menu a little challenging.
It was a very hot and sunny day in Monaco. For our beverages, my wife ordered a fruit smoothie to quench her thirst, whereas I had orange juice.
For lunch, my daughter ordered BBQ Babyback ribs, served with chips and coleslaw.
My wife ordered a Carrera salad – crispy flour tortilla bowl stuffed with lettuce, tomato, onion, corn, grilled chicken and topped with avocado and cheddar.
We ordered a plate of Chips N Salsa to share. The tortilla chips dipped in the spicy salsa sauce was very nice indeed.
I ordered the potato skins, filled with tangy melted cheddar, sour cream and crispy bacon bits.
The design and decorations dotted around the premises of the restaurant both inside and out were very interesting.
There were different sports memorabilia decorating the walls of the restaurant. This included the F1 car and helmet previously from Mika Hakkinen.
Forming the walls of the restaurant outside, were wooden containers growing various vegetables and edible plants.
The restaurant is a very interesting concept with many things to catch one’s eyes, and situated at such a lovely location. The atmosphere was great and the food was lovely as well. So it is definitely one restaurant to visit when in Monaco.
