It has been very windy here in Oxford, England since Friday evening. The winds have been gusting at up to 25mph at times. This has resulted in the wind howling constantly around us, as well as rattling the television antenna outside – this has intermittently been disturbing the peace through the night.
During the daytime, there was also rain interspersed with the big gusts of wind. But in the midst of all this, I looked out my bedroom window and noticed a rainbow in the distance. It is a sign of the light at the end of the tunnel.
There were birds flying past as well, which were caught in the above shot. They were soaring on the strong gusts of wind. This does make me wonder – are we like the birds and capable of using the circumstances around us to rise above everything, or are we hampered by them?
On Sunday morning while looking out the window, I noticed that the moon was visible just above the play frame in our garden. Hence I decided to grab my Sony A6000 and 70-200mm lens to shoot this.
That is why I find looking out the window during the daytime something very worthwhile. These are sights I would miss if my eyes were constantly focused on the iPhone or iPad.
