Reflections – 1st anniversary of myphotojourney.co.uk

With the summer holiday taking place over the previous 2 weeks, and going back to work shortly after my return to England, it had completely slipped my radar that it has been over a year since I started this website. The main reminder was from 1&1 of the invoice for my website hosting package.

I can’t believe that it has been over a year now since my first post on my website on 3/8/14. It has become apparent to me that there is a lot of work involved in maintaining a website, particularly adding new material in for my readers. But the positive benefit is that I am using my cameras more frequently, and have tried to go to new places just so as to capture more special photos to share. That has got to be a more healthy lifestyle as well – much better than just sitting in front of an iPad and surfing the net.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my readers, as the many visits (now easily hitting 500-600+ visits a day) I see as the traffic through my website, is helping to motivate me to keep posting.

I would like to use this photo above to illustrate what I am trying to achieve with my website. I am inviting my readers on a journey into the unknown, giving a glimpse into my life and what I have experienced, but showing things in a different light than what we normally see – all captured through a camera lens. I hope you my reader, have enjoyed the journey so far and the photos.
