Purple crocus

We have had purple crocuses blooming in my garden every spring. This is the first time I have picked one to shoot indoors. The flower looked like it was ready to open, but I thought I would put it in my cupcake flower holder from last year. When I came back, the flower had opened up fully – which goes to show that a little warmth and water can do wonders for these flowers.

I am actually very pleased with how the flower looked, as the pose is just right. Also, the colours of this flower when open is very beautiful indeed. I am actually undecided as to which of these light spectra is my favourite.
