Hi, as I have been enjoying Pokemon Go with my daughters, I thought there should be a section dedicated to this. Hence I have created a category for this where all posts about this can be seen together. Also, I thought I would take this opportunity to post about the new Pokemon I have managed to catch/hatch/evolve recently, as well as a tip I had noticed previously but not seen anyone post about.
First new Pokemon that I managed to hatch from a 10 km egg is Hitmonchan. I am unlikely to be using this Pokemon for battles or to put on a gym, but it is useful simply to complete my Pokedex (now total 132 caught).
Next Pokemon to hatch from a 10 km egg is Chansey. Previously it was useful to battle a friendly gym up as its low CP enables for higher prestige points to be added to the gym when battling Pokemon with higher CP. But since the ability to bring 6 Pokemon to battle at a friendly Gym, using Chansey to battle up the gym no longer confers an advantage. It will also not last particularly long as a defender on the gym. So it is only good to complete the Pokedex, hence no point in powering it up.
Next Pokemon that I have been wanting to catch is a Lapras. In fact, this used to be my favourite Pokemon in the actual Nintendo DS game. This one I caught wild, as I have not been fortunate enough to hatch one from a 10 km egg, unlike my oldest daughter who has already hatched two. As you can see, I have put this one on a gym.
The Pokemon that I’ve been wanting to evolve for such a long time was Exeggcutor. Previously I had hatched two from 5 km eggs, but not had any further. Which is why when a third one hatched from an egg, I had to put my Exeggcute as my buddy to grind another 2 candy to evolve it. Now I am trying to power it up, will need to collect more Exeggcute candy and stardust to do this.
While I was in Stone, Aylesbury one evening, I noticed the shadow of Omastar in the nearby sightings. Hence I went around to look for it and finally managed to catch it. So that is one more in my Pokedex.
I managed to hatch a Tangela from a 5 km egg after all this time – so another addition to my Pokedex.
Now there were a few questions I had which I now have the answer for.
- What is the maximum number of Pokecoins one can collect each day from the Gyms? 10 gyms x 10 = 100 Pokecoins per day
- How long does the battery last on the Pokemon Go Plus? 4 weeks
For those who are running low in Revives, but have Pokemon which have fainted, there is an alternative way to revive them (if you have enough stardust and candy to power the Pokemon up, and the Pokemon can still be powered up i.e. not already fully powered up for your trainer level). Simply power up the fainted Pokemon, as this will add a few HP to the Pokemon, which means that it is no longer fainted. Then use a Hyperpotion or other potions to heal it up. Simple.
