It was a few weeks after the Nice terrorist attack which left 84 dead, and as it was not far from where we were staying in Provence, we decided to make a trip there to experience the beach. We felt that as there were no major events happening there that day, that it would be safe for us to go to Nice after all.We were expecting a lot from the beach there, but sadly the beaches were all covered with pebbles with hardly any sand visible. But the sun was shining, and we were there, so we decided to soak in some sun and dip our feet into the sea water.
I took a picture of the map of the Promenade des Anglais to remind us of the terror attack which had taken the lives of so many people on the very street we were visiting. It was a sobering experience, and reminds us to be thankful to God that we are alive.
The view was lovely, the sun warm, the sea blue, all of which provided the ambiance for a nice day out in France. In contrast to that terrible day in July 2016, life goes on in Nice and as you would expect, with the atmosphere being what would be expected at a beach front during school holidays.
