My journey in UV imaging

I first became interested in UV imaging in 2009, having received a Fuji IS PRO for Christmas. However, my initial attempts at UV-imaging were not very visually pleasing.

It became clear very quickly that the equipment is particularly important for this form of imaging. Hence the early investment in the Baader U filter and a few enlarging lenses.

These are some images from the early part of my UV journey, using Fuji IS PRO, El-Nikkor 80/5.6 lens and Baader U and auto whitebalance.

Moving a few years along, the equipment I use has changed quite significantly. These  were taken with full spectrum Olympus E-M5, Coastal Optics 60mm f4 and Baader U filter, with optimised whitebalance.
