My wife recently took up cooking special food for the family again, as our niece was staying with us for her school holidays. One of the things which we like to eat, and which she is very good at making are her special family recipe Mum’s meat rolls.

At oldest daughter’s request, my wife also deep fried some vegetarian spring rolls. Nice. Pity my daughters ate most of it, and I only managed to eat one.
My wife also fried some bee hoon (vermicelli). But this time it tasted particularly nice. The secret is to soak the vermicelli in cold water first (not hot water), and once it is no longer dry, then it can be fried.
It was a good meal.
