My wife invited her trainees home for a meal with us on Tuesday. Hence she took my place as the chef of the day. I have put the photos of the food she prepared that day for you to enjoy. The meal was highly enjoyable, as was the walk down to the lock afterwards. The first dish which greeted the guests was the appetiser with finger food. As you can see, my youngest daughter had already tucked into the cocktail sausages, which is something she cannot resist.
She also had crispy duck with pancakes as a starter of the main meal. Everyone enjoyed this immensely. My wife later told me that we had run out of hoisin sauce, and that she had used Kecap manis and ketchup to make the sauce – and to be honest, it tasted better and smelt better than hoisin sauce; we’re definitely doing that again in future.
There also has to be a fish dish, and she chose to serve cod fish.
She also prepared one of our favourites – pan-fried chicken thigh fillets.
And lastly the addition to our five-a-day – pak choi.
My wife has received plenty of texts from her trainees to say that they had enjoyed the meal and the time they had with us. Which is great!
