Food art – agar jelly flowers

Recently my wife’s friend came to visit us from London as many of their school friends had come to England. One of the things she brought to our house was agar jelly which she had made. But what was special was that it was specially decorated on the inside, using a food needle and syringe to create the lovely flowers. Apparently quite a few hours work went into making it.

I have to say that it is very impressive and not something we would be able to do owing to the artistic skills required coupled with the time needed to achieve it. And it is almost a shame to have to cut it up to eat it.

These are probably the nicest looking agar jelly I’ve seen. Pity I did not take photos of these in UV-induced visible fluorescence (UVIVF). Afterall, I do love taking photos of flowers.
