The other dome is the Flower Dome, so named because of the many different species of flowers it contains. There are many different varieties of orchids scattered throughout the dome, as well as numerous other species of flowers. Being a glass dome, I felt that it was unlikely that I would be able to photograph the flowers in UV without bringing a tripod and a large flash setup – hence my decision to leave my UV-imaging setup at home. I chose to photograph in visible light and infrared.
As you can see, the Gardens by the Bay is definitely a place worth visiting, particularly if one is interested in flowers. But there are other interesting things to see and photograph as well. And it does feel fairly cool inside both the domes – which is a definite plus for me.
