Fish photography

One of my many hobbies is fish keeping. I began seriously keeping fish from 1993. Hence I thought I should post some images of the fish I have kept. In the past, I have kept goldfish, tropical fish such as discus, and koi carp.

I still keep koi carp, as they have grown quite a bit for the last 10+ years. The largest are the chagoi (tea-coloured koi) which are closest to the wild form of koi carp, and measuring over 85cm. My favourite breed is the showa.

The koi images were taken with Sony A7R and FE 24-70/4, using two Sony flash controlled with the Phottix Odin, one pointing into the pond directly and one held by hand to direct the flash at the fish being photographed.

The fish kept coming up time and again, even with the flash constantly firing off, as they were expecting food. My daughter and I do feed them by hand, as many of them are now tame enough to do so.

As you can see, I do like keeping fish.
