After a busy week at work, it is great to be surprised by my wife cooking some of our favourite food. Her own special fried rice, her lovely fried chicken and mixed vegetables with prawns, just to give us some of the five-a-day fruit and veg.
Below are two of our favourite dishes, which tend to be well received in our household. First dish is my wife’s special egg fried rice. Don’t be deceived by its plain looks – it is so tasty my youngest daughter finished the remainder from the fry pan, leaving no leftovers.
Fortunately for me, my wife did cook plenty of the chicken thigh fillets, as it means that my lunch the next day is also taken care off – and something I will look forward to eating tomorrow.
My wife’s mixed vegetables dish comprises of chinese leaf, baby corn, fine beans, tender stem broccoli and carrots, together with pan-fried fresh prawns. Definitely healthy – just look at the various colours in this dish.
