Fast food (Thai red curry) – in under two minutes

It seems that things have moved on in the last few years with more and more food which can be kept for long periods of time. I was shopping in Tesco last year, and came across the Tesco Thai Chicken Red Curry next to their pot noodles section. They also do a Thai Chicken Green Curry, each costing £2.00. Instantly I thought it is quite an interesting product, which I would like to try.

It comes nicely boxed, and does not require refrigeration or freezing. All you need to cook it is a microwave for 90 seconds.

The two packets need to be opened; they recommend tearing a 2cm opening in one corner of each packet. Then you place these standing up in the microwave for the 90 seconds.

Once it is microwaved, you simply tear open the packets and empty the contents into the paper box, mix and consume. I have to say that though it will not win any food contest, if you are hungry and in need of a quick meal, this could be the ticket. The rice was soft and tender, the curry had chicken and some vegetables which was nice and tender. It definitely has the smell of a Thai red curry, and pleasant enough. I have had it twice now and I would say that I will certainly have it again.

The contents are then poured into the container and mixed, prior to eating - just like a takeaway box

Talk about fast food – all within 2 minutes.
