Dinner with our niece

As our niece was coming to stay with us for the summer holidays and was arriving on a Tuesday, I decided to cook Wagyu rib-eye steak and mashed potatoes with salad for dinner. I had also chosen a triple chocolate tart for dessert from Asda. Below are the pictures of the meal.

Prior to the meal, we did do the grape test. This was then followed my the steak, mashed potato and vegetable salad.

I chose a bottle of Italian Super Tuscan wine to go with the food. Being 11 years old, it is now much more drinkable than when first bought – which is the signs of a great wine.

For the dessert I thought we could have this very nice looking triple chocolate tart which I had bought in Asda. But it clearly did not live up to my family’s expectations. But then when it is compared to the food we had (and the grapes as well), it was clearly on an uphill battle to win the taste war.
