Dinner in France

One of the things we enjoy most in France would be the food we can get there. Each time we have visited France, we have always indulged in their lovely fresh seafood. With these being readily available at their supermarkets, it comes as no surprise that most of the time we buy food back to eat in our holiday apartment.

One of our favourite seafood is fresh oysters. Usually we have this with some lemon juice to which my wife would add chopped garlic and onion with balsamic vinegar. ThisĀ this time round though, we had it just with Wasabi sauce – and it worked so well with it.

Another French food we love to eat is the sea snail. I only bought a few of these, as the main part of the meal would be the cooked king prawns. The meat of the sea snail does taste a bit chewy but is nice, especially when eaten with leafy salad.

The main meat of the meal came from the cooked prawns, which we always enjoy when we are in France.

My daughters had spotted trays of sushi in Carrefour, and hence they wanted these for their dinner.

To go with the meal, I bought a bottle of local wine to go with the food.

For dessert, my wife had bought some cakes from the local patisserie which we enjoyed together.

All in all, we do enjoy our meals in France. And the thought that the food and wine we ate cameĀ from close-by gives even more satisfaction.
