On Friday, we went as a family to attend the graduation ceremony in Warwick of Michael Ho, whom we have known as a young kid when he was just a few years old. So to see him now a fully grown adult and graduating from the University of Warwick was emotional. To celebrate this, we went to the Cote Brasserie in Leamington Spa for dinner.
It was quite significant to see Michael walking out of Warwick University perhaps for the last time, as a graduate and seeking the next phase of his life.
He had booked a table in Cote Brasserie in Leamington Spa so we and his family could celebrate this occasion together. This was situated in the city centre amongst other restaurants. Parking was not difficult to find, as there were plenty of free parking after 6pm. After being seated, we were presented with an interesting bottle used to hold table water.
It was 6:30pm in the evening, with some light coming through the windows to complement the warm lighting and candle-light.
They have a very nice bar area where the drinks are prepared and served.
To accompany the food, we ordered a bottle of the Saumur La Cabriole 2016, which is a French wine from the Loire Valley made from Chenin Blanc grape. It was served slightly warmer than we normally would serve white wine, but it also meant the fruity apple and peach aroma came through with a significant punch. Nice.
