Today’s image is from our trip to Stowe Garden in Buckingham. This is one of the National Trust sites and one of our favourites to visit – when we were members. They do allow dogs on the grounds, which is why we tend to visit it rather than some other sites.
We tend to pack a picnic for the day with smoked salmon, cooked prawns, cocktail sausages, salami, grapes, salad, French baguette and crisps. I tend to bring a nice bottle of white – such as Astrolabe Awatere Sauvignon blanc which though from New Zealand, tends to be closer to French Pouilly Fume than a Sauvignon blanc from New Zealand. This definitely goes well with the food.
After the picnic, we will wander around the grounds and enjoy the fresh air and the flowers. Definitely a great day out for the family. And it helps that it is not too far away from Oxford.
