Quite a few of my wife’s High School friends traveled to England recently, and during their first stop-over they stayed with us for a few days. My wife took the opportunity to demonstrate her culinary skills to her friends – and as can be expected from her, she will likely cook up a big feast.
Clearly my wife was cooking to impress, and had no regard for the total calories she was serving up to her friends. As there were 8 of them sharing this meal with us, my wife served it buffet style. In fact we all went into the conservatory to eat this meal, and only popping back to the dining table to get further servings.
I cooked one dish for this meal – my Sous Vide Duck breasts, which was served with soy sauce and honey dip.
In total there were 4 meat dishes and 3 vegetarian dishes; some were cooked specifically for one of our friends who is a vegetarian. And to finish it all off, we had a mix of colours displayed in our fruit platter.
I’m sure everyone enjoyed the food and the fellowship.
